The 10th Barnet Classic Car Show is due to take place in The Spires car park on Sunday, 18th May, 2025. The aim is to make it even bigger and better that the 2024 Barnet Classic Car Show. In 2024, the sun shone, the crowds came and there was a magnificent display of 114 classic cars and motorcycles of all ages. The Show started with a parade of cars along the High Street going past packed pavements. The Show included a special display of Lotus cars to celebrate Barnet’s connection with Colin Chapman, the founder of the company. He lived in New Barnet and some of the most famous Lotus designs were conceived during discussions held in his house. One part of the Show was devoted to pre-war cars, another to American cars while there were immaculate examples of the great British sports cars of the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Once again, we were particularly grateful to Katie Oldham and her backing group who have played for us during 8 of our 9 shows and we hope will return in 2025. The visitors and participants contributed well over £2000 to the Barnet Classic Car Club’s adopted charity, namely the local Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice. The refreshment stall raised money for Barnet’s Bull Theatre. Praise is due to the Car Club’s committee who put in an enormous amount of work to make the Show so successful.
